Trent Alexander-Arnold analyses how Liverpool’s match influenced Arsenal’s loss to Aston Villa

Following his substitution in Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace, Trent Alexander-Arnold pointed out that Arsenal’s defeat to Aston Villa was due to them being overly enthusiastic.

Arsenal missed the opportunity to claim the top spot after enduring a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Alexander-Arnold speculated, “If the order of fixtures were switched, perhaps it would have altered the mindset. It all boils down to mentality.”

He further added, “I believe our outcome had an impact on Arsenal’s performance. They may have become too eager, thinking this is their moment and what they must accomplish.”

“Possibly, they overanalyzed while if both Liverpool and Manchester City had won, it would have made them realize they just need to secure a victory rather than viewing it as a chance to separate from the rest. None of us have experienced a tight three-way race, so it’s challenging,” noted Alexander-Arnold.
