Trapped in Hospital: Accident Victim Unable to Settle N502,900 Medical Bill

Mrs Gladys Ebiko, an accident victim, finds herself stuck at Central Hospital in Warri, Delta State, as she is unable to pay her N502,900 medical bill.

Although she has been declared recovered by a doctor, she remains in the hospital’s Women’s Surgical Ward due to outstanding bills, where she has been receiving care for over five months.

The hospital’s management has insisted that she cannot be discharged until the bill is settled.

Fortunately, human rights activist Comrade Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen was able to raise N250,000 to contribute towards her medical expenses.

In a plea for assistance, Agberen urged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, NGOs, philanthropists, and well-meaning individuals to come forward and help clear the remaining medical costs for Mrs. Ebiko.

Agberen emphasized the need for psychological support for Mrs. Ebiko, especially considering the recent loss of her baby after eight years.
