Tragic Incident: POS Operator Murdered by Cultists in Ogun State

In a shocking turn of events, Fatai Kehinde, a 48-year-old POS operator and the son of the Baale of Kuto Community, known as Faithy, was brutally murdered by suspected cultists in Ogun State.

The unfortunate incident unfolded as the victim was chased by his assailants from his shop in Kuto Market to a location under the bridge where he met his tragic end on Friday.

According to reports gathered by NewsNow, this murder took place just days after a barber was also killed at Isale Oja Kuto.

An informed source within the community shared details with NewsNow, stating: “The tragic event occurred last night around 11 pm. The victim, affectionately known as Faithy, was the son of the Baale of Kuto. He was operating his POS shop and was preparing to close for the day when the perpetrators arrived at his shop.”

“Initially, one of them posed as a customer in need of a cash withdrawal; subsequently, three other masked individuals joined in and shot at Faithy.”

“Fortunately, the initial shot did not prove fatal, prompting Faithy to try and flee. Regrettably, his assailants caught up with him under the Kuto Bridge and ruthlessly took his life,” the source continued.

“It is suspected that the same group responsible for the barber’s murder in Isale Oja Kuto just four days ago may have carried out this heinous act, given that the assailants were reportedly seen in the same jeep vehicle,” added the source.

Faithy was laid to rest on Saturday at 2 pm.

Confirming the disturbing incident, Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu assured, “the command is actively investigating both incidents with efforts underway to capture the perpetrators behind these senseless killings.”
