Tragic Incident: Man Arrested for Fatally Shooting Son Over Food


The Police have apprehended a man, Marcel Udeh, from Umunneochi LGA of Abia State for the alleged murder of his son.

According to sources in the community, the incident occurred when the son returned home and ate the last bit of food from a pot in the family’s kitchen.

Reportedly, Mr. Udeh was furious that his son had taken food without seeking his permission.

Reacting in anger, he purportedly retrieved a gun from his room and shot his son, resulting in the tragic death of the victim.

Community members swiftly captured Marcel Udeh, tied his hands, and placed him beside his deceased son.

Another version of events suggested that the suspect used a sharp object to harm his son, leading to the fatal outcome.

In a remorseful state, Udeh pleaded for forgiveness, attributing his actions to evil influences and expressing regret over his deeds.

Upon inquiry, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Abia State Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident’s report at the Umunneochi Division and announced the suspect’s arrest.

ASP Maureen Chinaka stated, “Yes, we received a report at Umunneochi Division, the suspect has been detained, and investigations are underway at the SCID. He will face legal charges following the completion of the investigation process.”
