Tragic Incident: Lagos Mourns Loss of Five-Year-Old Boy Who Fell from Fence

A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Igando area of Lagos State, resulting in the tragic death of a five-year-old boy known as David.

According to reports, the unfortunate event took place on Friday.

It was revealed that young David was playing with his peers in the neighborhood when he climbed a fence and perched on it.

During the playful activities with his friends, David tragically lost his balance and plummeted to the ground.

Upon discovering that he was unconscious, his companions promptly sought help from a neighbor, who rushed to the scene.

Subsequently, he was taken to the hospital, where the attending doctor confirmed his unfortunate passing.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, verified the incident.

He stated, “A father reported to the Igando Division that his son, 5-year-old David, fell from a fence while engaging in play with other children. He was swiftly taken to General Hospital Igando by a neighbor, where he was pronounced deceased by the attending physician.”

Law enforcement officials visited the site of the tragedy, and the body was transferred to Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, for further examination. An active investigation is currently underway.

In a separate report by PUNCH Metro, a 13-year-old boy named Kelvin Onyengba tragically drowned in February while at Alatise Beach in the Ajah area of Lagos State. The young boy, who was with a group of five friends, lost his life due to the relentless waves of the sea.
