Tragic incident in Kogi as 23-year-old man takes his own life

Reports have emerged of the tragic suicide of a 23-year-old man identified only as Bayo, at his residence in Angwa Tiv area of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State. The unfortunate incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, April 6.

 

It is understood that the deceased was involved in managing a thrift business prior to his untimely death, sparking speculations that it might have driven him to take such drastic action.

 

According to an eyewitness who spoke to The Nation, Bayo allegedly took his own life by ingesting Sniper, a well-known insecticide. Further information revealed that he hailed from Ogori in Ogori-Magongo area of Kogi Central, and had graduated from Kogi State Polytechnic approximately two years ago.

 

The eyewitness expressed: “He finished from Kogi Polytechnic about two years ago. He’s collecting money contribution, but maybe (his death) it is not ordinary because I don’t know how much he could have spent, to make him do that.”
