An unfortunate event unfolded at the White House as a driver lost their life when a speeding vehicle crashed into one of the gates, according to the U.S. Secret Service.

On May 4th, just before 10:30 p.m. (1430 GMT), the vehicle collided with an outer perimeter gate on the White House complex, as confirmed by the federal law enforcement agency in a statement released via X.

Upon the incident, security measures were activated as officers swiftly responded to secure the vehicle, ensuring that there was no immediate threat to the White House’s safety.

Providing updates, Anthony Guglielmi, the chief of Communications for the agency, utilized X to inform the public that some traffic closures would persist while both the agency and local police conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
