Tragedy struck in Paris as authorities confirm the devastating loss of four individuals in separate apartment fires. The incidents occurred on Tuesday, where a fierce blaze consumed two buildings in the city.
Initial reports indicate that the lifeless bodies of three individuals were discovered on the seventh floor of a building near the Opera Garnier in central Paris around 8:00 am.
The Mayor of the City’s central district, Ariel Weil, shared that the victims were unable to escape through the windows due to security bars installed to thwart potential break-ins from the roof. However, firefighters successfully rescued about ten residents residing on the same floor.
Weil, along with a police source, mentioned the ongoing investigation into the possibility of the fire’s origin being linked to a gas leak.
Furthermore, authorities are looking into a separate fatal fire in the 15th district, close to the iconic Eiffel Tower in western Paris.
Investigators revealed, “A 60-year-old individual was discovered deceased, while another person is in critical condition, with two others in serious conditions.”
According to a second police source, a woman lost her life following a blaze that erupted in her apartment.
