Tragic Discovery: Six Family Members Found Dead in Abia

In a shocking turn of events, six individuals from the same family were tragically discovered deceased in Obehie, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State.

According to information gathered by NewsNow, the remains of the family members were stumbled upon by concerned neighbors.

The distressing incident occurred on Wednesday in Isi Obehie, leaving the community and nearby villages in a state of disbelief and grief.

While the official cause of death is yet to be determined, a community source speculated that the fatalities could be attributed to inhaling fumes from a generator.

Other suggestions circulating include the possibility of the family falling victim to a purported ‘spiritual attack.’

Providing additional details, the source disclosed that among the deceased were three children, their mother, the maternal aunt, and her spouse.

It was mentioned that the father, who was absent during the tragic incident, is now the sole surviving member of the household.

Notably, the victims, originally from a different local government area in Abia, had been residing in Obehie prior to the heartbreaking event.

Although the identities of the deceased have not been disclosed, ASP Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson of the Abia State Police Command, confirmed to NewsNow that the command is aware of the incident and has initiated investigations.

Chinaka assured that efforts are underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding the perplexing deaths.

“We have received such a report, and our investigation is actively pursuing the cause of this tragedy,” remarked the Police spokesperson in a statement to NewsNow.
