Suspected militants in Rivers State are believed to have taken the life of a brave Nigerian Navy officer.
Usman Muhammad Maiyaki Kaura, from Zamfara State, a former classmate of the deceased officer, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook that the officer was allegedly killed in the line of duty by a militant group in Port Harcourt earlier today.

It’s indeed shocking. I just received the sad news of the passing of our gallant primary classmate Usman Muhammad Maiyaki Kaura, a member of the Nigerian Navy of 22ak and 69regular Rivers state. He was killed today by the militant group at portharcourt while on duty serving his country.
May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul firdausi. My last chat with him was on 1st January 2020. RIP Usman Muhammed Maiyaki Kaura”
