Tragic Accident on Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Road Claims Lives


On the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode road, a devastating road accident has resulted in the loss of two lives and left three individuals injured.

This incident involved an Ash Howo Truck without a registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry car bearing the registration number APP478FS. The collision occurred at approximately 11:28 am on Sunday.

In Abeokuta, Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, confirmed the accident to reporters. She mentioned that the rescue operation was conducted by a team from FRSC Zebra 50 of Ijebu Ode Unit Command.

The cause of the accident was attributed to overspeeding and a loss of control, resulting in the tragic collision between the two vehicles.

According to Okpe, “The vehicles involved in the crash were an Ash Howo Truck without a registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry Car with the registration number APP478FS.”

“The total individuals involved in the accident were five, comprising one male adult and four female adults. Tragically, two individuals, one male and one female, lost their lives while three females sustained injuries.”

She further informed that the injured victims were transported to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, while the deceased were taken to the morgue.

Offering condolences to the bereaved families, Sector Commander CC Anthony Uga advised motorists to avoid overspeeding and prioritize careful attention while driving.
