Tragic Accident Claims Two Lives in Ogun State

Two individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained injuries during a recent accident near the Idogo junction on Ilaro-Owode Yewa Road in Ogun State.

Simultaneously, the Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has issued a warning about cracking down on motorists who park indiscriminately along the roads.

The fatal accident involved a Mitsubishi car with license plate JJJ168JF and a truck bearing registration number T12224LA.

The vehicle, believed to have been speeding, collided with the truck, which was improperly parked on the road.

According to the sector command’s spokesperson, Florence Okpe, this information was provided in a statement released on Friday.

The injured party and the deceased were transported to a general hospital and Hosanna Hospital in Ilaro.

In part of the statement, it was stated, “The FRSC Ilaro Unit Command conducted a rescue operation on the Ilaro-Owode route near Iyana Odogo following a crash that occurred around 0600hrs involving two vehicles: a Mitsubishi car with license plate JJJ854JH and a truck, T12224LA.

“A total of seven individuals were involved – four adult males and three adult females, resulting in one female injured, and two male adults losing their lives in the collision. The likely causes of the accident were obstruction and speeding.

“The injured and deceased individuals were taken to General Hospital, Ilaro, and Hosanna Hospital, Ilaro.”

Meanwhile, the Ogun Sector Commander of the FRSC, Anthony Uga, has instructed the corps marshal to initiate regular checks on unauthorized parking, with offenders facing legal consequences.

He also advised drivers to adhere to speed limits as required by the law.
