Tinubu speaks on plans to remove Oshiomole as APC National chairman

Bola Tinubu, the APC National leader, has addressed the attempts by some party members to unseat the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, from office. This comes after Justice Danlami Senchi of an Abuja High Court suspended Oshiomhole in response to a petition from disgruntled party members. The court order was later overturned by the Kano state High court, sparking further moves to remove Oshiomhole.

In a statement released on Sunday March 15th, Tinubu condemned the attempts to remove Oshiomhole, likening it to a “Ambition-virus 2023” infecting some politicians. He criticized the obsession with future political ambitions at the expense of present governance, questioning the motives of those seeking Oshiomhole’s removal.

Tinubu highlighted that the plotters were driven by their 2023 ambitions, disregarding party procedures and weakening the party for their personal gain. He also emphasized the need to focus on supporting President Buhari’s administration rather than succumbing to political intrigue.

He urged party members to rally around President Buhari, emphasizing the importance of current governance over premature political maneuvers. Tinubu cautioned against being consumed by personal ambitions and urged for a collective effort in improving progressive governance.

Tinubu’s strong stance emphasizes the need for party unity and commitment to the current administration, urging members to prioritize the nation’s collective interest over personal ambitions.
