Three suspects involved in armed robbery apprehended by the police in Kwara

Authorities from the Kwara State Police Command have successfully captured three individuals suspected of armed robbery.

According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, in Ilorin, the state capital, the suspects were found in possession of a cut-to-size single barrel gun allegedly used during the robbery, as well as an android phone.

The arrested individuals have been identified as John Ndubusi Nbakogu, Toheeb Suleiman, and Bolakale Quadir, also known as Adaka.

On March 2nd, a distress call reporting an armed robbery incident in the Oko-Erin area of Ilorin was received by the authorities around 06:30hrs. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed for security purposes, was attacked by three armed assailants while tending to his traps. The victim suffered a loss of his Infinix Note 11 handset valued at N150,000 during the incident,” Ejire added.

After a prompt response by the police officers, the first suspect was swiftly apprehended following the incident.

“Subsequent investigations led to the identification and arrest of the other two suspects. Additionally, a cut-to-size single barrel gun, suspected to have been utilized in the robbery, was seized from one of the suspects,” further stated Ejire.

“Following thorough investigations, the suspects were confirmed to be the culprits behind the crime against the victim.”

The spokesperson mentioned that the suspects will be brought before the court for prosecution, emphasizing the importance of the public’s cooperation with law enforcement by providing timely and pertinent information to aid in crime prevention and detection.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, reiterated the command’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens.

“Kwara State will no longer tolerate criminal activities. We are fully committed to apprehending and bringing criminals to justice while upholding law and order within our communities,” he affirmed.
