It has been officially announced by Chelsea that Thiago Silva will be departing from the club during this summer transfer window to join Fluminense.
The confirmation came through an update posted on the official Chelsea website earlier this week.
The statement released read, “After four successful seasons at Chelsea, Thiago Silva will be leaving the club following our final Premier League match against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, as he makes his return to Fluminense.”
Furthermore, it was revealed that Chelsea has given their approval for Thiago Silva to start training early with his new team at Fluminense, after finalizing a two-year deal with the Brazilian side.
Thiago Silva will commence his training sessions with Fluminense in preparation for his official registration transfer scheduled for July 1st.
Having made over 150 appearances for Chelsea, the 39-year-old defender clinched prestigious titles like the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup during his time at the club.
