Investigation into Kaduna State Government: More Individuals to be Summoned by House Committee

The Adhoc Committee, chaired by Henry Danjuma and established by the Kaduna State House of Assembly to probe financial transactions related to loans and contracts during former governor Nasir El-Rufai’s tenure, will be expanding its list of individuals called to provide testimonies.

Danjuma acknowledged that certain testimonies had led to implicating individuals not initially included in the list, necessitating their invitation to appear before the committee.

He emphasized the prompt action taken by the committee post-inauguration, highlighting that key individuals have already been summoned for interviews.

During a late-night session on Monday, Danjuma informed reporters that all testimonies would undergo thorough analysis before conclusions are drawn.

He reiterated, “The Kaduna State House of Assembly commissioned the Adhoc Committee to investigate financial transactions involving loans and contracts of the Kaduna State Government from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023.”

Among those summoned thus far are Thomas Gyang, former Commissioner of the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure; Ja’afaru Ibrahim Sani, former Commissioner of the Ministry of Education; Dr. Manzo Daniel Maigari, former Agriculture Commissioner; Balarabe Aliyu, Commissioner/Administrator of Zaria Metropolitan Authority; Engr. Mohammed Lawal Magaji, former Managing Director of Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA); and Phoebe Yayi Sukai, Administrator of Kafanchan Metropolitan Authority.
