An activist, Aisha Yesufu, expressed astonishment at the actions taken by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi Stars to prevent the arrest of his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Reports by NewsNow detailed how Ododo intervened to stop the EFCC operatives from carrying out the arrest of Bello, who was the subject of an ongoing fraud investigation.
The EFCC officials had raided Bello’s residence in Abuja with the intent to apprehend him, but Ododo allegedly helped Bello escape to evade arrest by the anti-corruption agency.
“I, Aisha Yesufu, cannot fathom a scenario where, as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a Governor would intervene in Abuja to obstruct @officialEFCC from apprehending someone,” Aisha expressed in disbelief. “To hinder the agency from executing its constitutionally mandated task. Unbelievable!
