The tragic news of the shooting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Chairman for Olomu Ward 1 in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State, Paul Onomuakpokpo, has deeply saddened the community. The incident occurred last night, on Wednesday January 8th, when yet to be identified gunmen fatally shot him.
Onomuakpokpo, who also held the position of Olomu Tipper unit chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, was ambushed and killed along Ogoni Road near the palace of Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom. He was driving in his Toyota Camry when the gunmen attacked, resulting in his immediate death. The attackers fled the scene shortly after ensuring he was deceased.
