FRSC sets conditions for using Google Map while driving

The ban on using Google map while driving has been clarified by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

At a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday January 8, FRSC corps marshal Boboye Oyeyemi explained that road users are allowed to use Google map only with car-holding phone devices.

Anyone caught using Google map without a car-holding phone device will be arrested and prosecuted, he added.

Oyeyemi stated, “The use of Google map while driving is permitted, but holding and using it by hand are driving offences subject to legal action. If you wish to use Google map while driving, you must have a car-holding phone device for both your safety and the proper use of the application.”
