At the age of 33, the family of Darius Morris, a former NBA point guard who played for teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, confirmed his passing on Saturday.

In a statement to TMZ Sports, his family expressed their deep sorrow, announcing the loss of their beloved son, Darius Aaron Morris. They have requested privacy and understanding during this difficult time.

Fox News, referencing TMZ, reported that Morris was discovered deceased in the Los Angeles area, although the cause of death remains unknown.

Expressing their grief, the Lakers shared a message on X following the news of Morris’ passing.

A standout player during his college years at Michigan, Morris entered the NBA when he was drafted by the Lakers in the second round of the 2011 draft. He later played for various teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2013–14 season, the Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Brooklyn Nets where he spent the 2014–15 season.

Throughout his career, Morris maintained an average of 3.3 points per game across 132 appearances.
