The importance of integrity and public trust emphasized by the Head of Service to FCT Civil Service Commission chair

During a courtesy visit by members of the FCT Civil Service Commission, led by Engr. Emeka Eze, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, urged them to uphold meritocracy, integrity, and public trust in the execution of their responsibilities.

Yemi-Esan emphasized the significance of viewing their appointment as a call to serve and encouraged them to proactively address the existing workload to meet the nation’s development needs.

She advised the Commission to adopt innovative approaches and ensure the recruitment process incorporates top talents using digital platforms. Yemi-Esan stressed the importance of laying a strong foundation today for future generations to build upon.

Referencing the Indian Civil Service and Singaporean Civil Service, she urged the Commission to consider transformative reforms to enhance their operations and drive impactful changes.

Engr. Emeka Eze expressed gratitude to the Head of Civil Service for her leadership in implementing successful reforms within the Federal Civil Service, ensuring optimal performance and exceptional delivery.

He highlighted the positive effects of initiatives like the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25), Standard Operating Procedures, and e-governance, which have improved service delivery through digitalization and efficient communication.
