The Head of Customs Supports the Use of Locally Manufactured Vehicles for Economic Empowerment

Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, recently test-drove a Nigerian-made vehicle and expressed his support for this innovative initiative.

The endorsement was made public on their official X account, formerly Twitter, last Friday.

In Adeniyi’s words, “It is important that we give our Nigerian products a chance. Relying solely on imports, especially in the automobile sector, is not sustainable.”

“We are making every effort to support local manufacturers through various concessions. The next step is to utilize their products, and that is exactly what we are doing now,” he added.

“We are open to exploring partnership opportunities with them and this is a promising start. I am impressed with what I have seen; the vehicle performed well during the drive, demonstrating good speed and acceleration.”

Hassan Ghandour, the sales manager at Mikano Motors Abuja, highlighted the appeal, affordability, and variety of their products. He pledged to provide the Nigerian Customs with top-quality vehicles.

“This visit showcases our offerings to the Nigerian customs and our commitment to support them. Our products are not only of high quality but also affordable.

“Apart from selling vehicles, we also provide warranties of up to six years or 200,000 kilometers, covering any manufacturing defects. This provides our clients with the assurance of after-sales service and spare parts support.

“Our range includes sedans, compact SUVs, large SUVs, and smart SUVs equipped with cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology. We also offer the Changan pickup truck.

“Our products are not only competitively priced but are tailored for Nigeria’s climate and road conditions, keeping our clients’ needs and budgets in mind,” Ghandour emphasized.
