The Future of Paul Onuachu to be Decided by Southampton This Summer

Southampton are in a predicament when it comes to deciding what’s next for Nigeria’s Paul Onuachu.

Last January, Onuachu made the move to the Saints from KRC Genk in the Belgian Pro League for a fee of €18m.

Despite his arrival, the tall striker did not manage to leave a lasting impression, featuring in only 11 matches before Southampton’s relegation last season.

Following this, the 29-year-old was sent on loan to Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig last summer, where he has significantly excelled.

During his time at the club, Onuachu netted 12 goals in 19 appearances for the former Turkish champions.

Reports from Givemesports suggest that Southampton will soon need to make a decision on whether to permanently transfer him to Trabzonspor or retain him for the upcoming season.

On the other hand, Trabzonspor is open to extending Onuachu’s loan deal for another season due to financial constraints.
