The FRSC in Delta State Deploys 570 Personnel for Easter

To ensure road safety and quality travel time during the Easter period, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 570 personnel on Delta highways.

Mr. Bassy Eshiet, the Sector Commander of the Delta Sector Command, announced this deployment in a statement released on Friday in Asaba.

The Easter special patrol operations will be carried out from Friday to Tuesday, involving 570 personnel, including regular and special marshals. Additionally, 13 patrol vehicles, two ambulances, and one tow truck have been dispatched for this purpose.

The main goal of the special patrol is to increase the visibility of the command on highways and ultimately reduce road traffic accidents, fatalities, and injuries.

Emphasizing on the strategic approach, Eshiet mentioned, “We are committed to strict enforcement of road traffic laws, prompt response to distress calls, and quick clearance of road obstructions, among other measures.”

He also highlighted that traffic calming, lane discipline, and 24-hour rescue operations will be implemented to ensure efficient traffic flow.

The personnel deployed will focus on ensuring compliance with speed limits, preventing dangerous driving behaviors, and addressing violations such as driving while using a phone or overloading vehicles.

In addition, offenses like failure to carry passengers’ manifest for commercial drivers, seat belt non-usage, and the use of worn-out or expired tires will also be strictly monitored and penalized.
