Tasked with overseeing the health and well-being of its workforce, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has formed a 12-member committee.

Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, delegated the inauguration to Dr Comfort Adeosun, Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office (SWO) at the OHCSF.

This initiative aligns with pillar 6 of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25), aimed at enhancing employee value by maintaining a safe and conducive work environment, well-being, and providing essential support services through various activities.

The Committee’s launch marks a significant stride towards achieving the goals of the National Policy on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), designed to enhance working conditions and workspaces.

Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing safety, Esan mentioned an upcoming safety audit and entrusted the Committee to champion safety within the OHCSF.

Comprising members from the Occupational Health Safety and Environment (OHSE) Department and other crucial departments, the Committee will advise Management on hazard control measures and enhance staff safety, health, and welfare.

Committee members were urged to diligently fulfill their mandate, underscoring that staff safety and well-being are paramount for productivity and service excellence.
