The Falcons are up next for us – Banyana goalkeeper

Acknowledging the challenge of facing the Super Falcons, Banyana Banyana’s goalkeeper, Kaylin Swart, expressed readiness for their crucial final Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers against their long-standing rivals.

The rivalry between the two teams has intensified over the years, with both being regarded as powerhouses in Africa. However, South Africa has emerged victorious in recent encounters.

Having triumphed in their last two meetings – the 2022 Women’s Afcon in Morocco and the 2021 Aisha Buhari Cup on Nigerian soil, tournaments which Banyana eventually won – Swart emphasized the toughness of playing in Nigeria but conveyed confidence in their preparation.

Expressing her thoughts, Swart commented, “Nigeria is always a formidable opponent, but we have had successful outings there. It will be another fierce battle, but we are well-prepared for it.”

Highlighting the progress made during the current season in the SA Super League, Swart noted the overall improvement in team performance and individual skills.

With the upcoming game on the horizon, Swart shared, “The coaches are enthusiastic about our development. We are gearing up for the upcoming match, and the team morale is high, both individually and collectively.”
