The commented video in which Trump appears to fall asleep in the middle of the Oval Office

There is not a day in which Donald Trump is not in the eye of the hurricane. But on this occasion, the cause was not his controversial statements. At almost 80 years old, he seems to have fallen asleep in front of the cameras, and the surprising thing is that this is not the first time this has happened.

In the video published by several media outlets and circulating on social networks, you can see how Trump’s eyes gradually closed, visibly tired, towards the middle of his televised announcement of the agreement with the pharmaceutical company Regeneron.

They even seem to end up closing completely and opening several times while Cabinet members and pharmaceutical executives stood behind him in the Oval Office.

The last time Trump fell asleep in public was last month during a Cabinet meeting, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was discussing media coverage of the joint US-Israeli war against Iran and Lebanon. In fact, a few days before he seemed to fall asleep at another press conference.

Viral in a matter of hours

The video has quickly gone viral on platforms such as X, Instagram and TikTok, where thousands of users have commented on the scene with irony. Some recalled previous episodes in which Trump had questioned the attention spans of other political leaders, with Joe Biden the focus of those past criticisms.

From the president’s entourage, no official explanation has been issued for the moment about what happened. However, on previous occasions, Trump himself has defended that, although it may seem that his eyes are closed, “he is listening to everything that is said”, downplaying the importance of this type of images.
