The Body of UNIZIK Staff, Engr. Emeka Chiaghana, Found Buried in a Shallow Grave Three Months After His Abduction

Engr. Emeka Chiaghana, a staff member of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state, has been reportedly found dead after being abducted.

 

He was kidnapped in his house in Nibo, Awka South council area of the state on October 25, 2019, with no trace of his whereabouts until now. (Read here)

 

The body of the deceased was discovered in a shallow grave in Mbaukwu, Awka North local government area of the state, where he had been buried.

 

One of the suspects arrested last December in connection with the kidnapping incident led the police to the location where the body was found after confessing under duress.

 

Three individuals were arrested by the police in Agulu, Aniocha local government area of the state in connection with the abduction.

 

The spokesperson for the Command, Haruna Mohammed, stated in a release that two of the suspects who had fled with gunshot wounds during the encounter with the police were declared wanted.
