3 Individuals in Ogun Receive 6-Year Prison Sentence for Cable Vandalism
Three individuals have been handed six-year prison terms by a Federal High Court in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State. They were found guilty of unlawfully tampering, disconnecting, and damaging electrical installations belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC.
The offenders, Chibueze Emmanuel, Michael Genesis, and Ojuolape Olaitan, were apprehended in January 2022 (Emmanuel and Genesis) and January 2024 (Olaitan) by the Ogun State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
Appearing before Justice A. Demi-Ajayi, the trio pleaded guilty to the charges and were subsequently convicted. Following a thorough examination of the case, each defendant was sentenced to six years in prison by Justice Demi-Ajayi.
