Man Sentenced to Jail in Gombe for N7.6m Fraud
In a case of fraud, George Habu Nuhu has been convicted and sentenced to six months in prison by the Gombe State High Court.
Nuhu faced prosecution by the Gombe Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a single count charge of intending to defraud.
The charge specified that between March 2018 and November 2019 in Gombe, Gombe State, Nuhu fraudulently obtained N7,678,000 (Seven Million, Six Hundred and Seventy-eight Thousand Naira) which belonged to Shehu Makama. He claimed the money was payment for the "madrid timber log," thus violating Section 320 of the Penal Code Law and punishable under Section 322 of the same Law.
