EFCC Apprehends Two Individuals for Alleged Illegal Forex Trading

Two individuals, Surajo Umar and Muhammed Sadiq Lawal, have been detained by operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on suspicion of engaging in illegal forex trading. According to EFCC's official X handle, the arrests took place on Udi Street in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where the suspects were reportedly involved in the unauthorized sale of dollars. Citing credible intelligence, the statement mentioned that Umar and Lawal were apprehended for their alleged participation in unlawful foreign exchange dealings. The statement also indicated that upon the completion of investigations, the suspects will be prosecuted in court.
