Support from Davido for Nigerian Chess Master, Tunde Onakoya’s Guinness World Record Attempt

At Times Square in New York, Afrobeats star Davido joined in to show support for Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya, who is aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon.

Onakoya started his quest to surpass the Guinness World Record of 58 hours for the longest chess marathon on Wednesday, April 17.

Davido, who recently had a sold-out show at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York, attended the event to offer encouragement to his fellow countryman.

In various videos circulating on social media, Davido and the excited chess master were seen embracing and dancing together.

Onakoya’s chess marathon is set to conclude today, on April 19.

Another Nigerian musician, Adekunle Gold, had earlier shown support for the chess master by visiting the venue on Wednesday and making contributions to help with the live streaming of the event.

Onakoya has emerged victorious in all his challenges so far, including his match against New York’s National Chess Master, Shawn Martinez.
