Successful Raid by Troops on ISWAP Enclaves Results in Six Casualties


In a recent operation, troops from Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army carried out a raid on a notorious enclave in Goniri, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in the death of six Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) fighters.

The information was disclosed by Zagazola Makama, a security analyst specializing in counter-insurgency in the Lake Chad region. He shared these details in a post on his X handle last Friday.

Makama highlighted that the successful operation was conducted by the troops of the 81 Division Task Force Battalion in partnership with the Civilian Joint Task Force. The troops managed to clear Wulma Mashi and Kodow while also dismantling the terrorists’ structures.

According to intelligence sources, the troops further advanced to clear Goniri and Kokotuma. An encounter occurred with the terrorists near a small market before Gorere market, resulting in the elimination of six terrorists and the destruction of all structures in the vicinity.
