Successful Police Operation in Katsina; Suspected Bandit Neutralised


In Katsina State, police officers have successfully thwarted an attack on Sabuwa town, the administrative center of Sabuwa local government area, by neutralizing a suspected bandit

Providing details to reporters in Katsina on Thursday, Police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, highlighted the successful operation.

According to him, a report was received on April 17, 2024, indicating that a group of suspected bandits, heavily armed with AK-47 rifles and riding motorcycles, were heading towards Sabuwa town with malicious intent.

Upon receiving this information, the DPO Sabuwa promptly assembled a team of officers, comprising personnel from Operation Sharan Daji and the Community Watch Corps, to respond to the threat.

Aliyu stated, “A confrontation ensued between the law enforcement team and the suspected bandits, resulting in the thwarting of their planned onslaught.”

During the operation, a member of the Community Watch Corps sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and was immediately evacuated to a medical facility for treatment.

After assessing the area, law enforcement recovered the body of one neutralized suspected bandit, along with a walkie-talkie and a hand grenade.
