Successful Operations in Borno and Katsina: Troops Eliminate Terrorists and Retrieve Arms


In Borno and Katsina states, Nigerian Army troops working alongside Hybrid Forces have effectively neutralized terrorists and recovered arms, ammunition, and rustled livestock.

On Wednesday, the Nigerian Army shared this information in a post on its official X handle.

The operations were specifically targeted at Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) strongholds in the Gori vicinity of Gwoza Local Government Area in Borno State.

During the missions, the troops successfully eliminated a terrorist, rescued numerous cattle, and confiscated two AK-47 rifles, 38 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, AK-47 magazines, an Improvised Explosive Device, and a motorcycle.

Meanwhile, in Katsina State, an offensive on terrorist camps resulted in the deaths of two criminals in the Garin Rinji area of Batsari Local Government Area.

The soldiers outmatched the insurgents with superior firepower, destroying multiple hideouts, seizing two motorcycles, and recovering 25 rustled livestock during the operation.

The Army affirmed, “Ongoing offensive operations are in place to eliminate terrorists in the vicinity.”
