Spain falls back into the ranking of the fight against corruption: it is already at the level of Cape Verde, Rwanda or Botsuana

Spain has worsened again 2024 in the world ranking of corruption with a score of 56 out of 100that is 4 points less than last year, and that places us at levels of countries such as Botsuana, Cabo Verde or Rwanda.

International Transparency qualifies Spain as “defective democracy” and installs the idea that corruption marks the political agenda of our country. We occupy the 46 of 180 countries, which represents a 10 -point drop compared to the last year, and according to international transparency the fault of this decrease is the legislative stagnation without an anti -corruption national strategy and at least 87 European directives still pending transposition .

Although the Government of Pedro Sánchez approved last October a royal decree that collected the creation of an independent authority to protect people who denounce corruption cases, International Transparency regrets that this office is not workingand that only four autonomous communities have active anti -brain agencies.

Denmark, the most transparent country in the world

At the top of the table repeats Denmark, which has been leading this world ranking for 7 years. And in the tail they continue to be installed as less transparent countries Sudan del Sur, Somalia, Venezuela, Syria and Libya.
