A pastor in Nigeria has been accused of impregnating a member of his choir and orchestrating a cover-up to conceal the scandal from his congregation.
According to @Moskedapages, the respected clergyman reportedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a choir member, resulting in her pregnancy. To hide the situation, she was sent to the village to give birth.
After the child was born, the pastor’s childless brother allegedly adopted the infant while the young woman returned to the city to resume her role in the choir.
Allegedly, the pastor then took to the pulpit to express gratitude to God for his brother “adopting an orphan,” successfully keeping his indiscretion concealed from the congregation.
@moskedapages shared: “There was this Man of God. He had been married for many years, and was highly esteemed by his congregation. However, he was engaging in an affair with a choir member. He got her pregnant and she traveled to the village to have his son. The child was then ‘adopted’ by his elder brother who was unable to have children.”
She added, “This Man of God took to the stage and praised God that his brother had finally welcomed a son. He claimed that they had adopted an orphan and even dedicated the boy right there at the altar. No one suspected a thing, and no one asked questions. The choir member returned and continued her ministry.”
“The Man of God is still highly respected. When you mention enduring marriages, you count his. If tomorrow, he provides marriage advice and you disagree, they would use his enduring marriage as a reminder that he knows what he’s talking about. But his reputation is tarnished. Severely tarnished.”
