Shocking Results Revealed by JAMB for UTME 2024: Over 1.4 Million Candidates Scored Below 200


It has been officially confirmed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, that a staggering 1,402,490 candidates did not manage to score 200 out of the total 400 marks in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, out of a total of 1,842,464 candidates.

The results of the examination were made public on Monday.

An alarming 78% of the total candidates failed to achieve at least half of the available marks.

Breaking down the data, JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede revealed that “8,401 candidates achieved scores of 300 and above; 77,070 scored 250 and above; 439,974 scored 200 and above, while a staggering 1,402,490 scored below 200.”

In addition, Oloyede mentioned that the results of 64,624 out of the 1,904,189 candidates who took the exam were kept on hold by the board for further investigation.
