Shaboozey, a Nigerian-born artist, achieves top spot on Billboard’s Country Songs chart, surpassing Beyoncé

Collins Obinna Chibueze, also known as Shaboozey, a Nigerian-American artist, has created history on the prestigious US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

This week, his track ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ knocked Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ off the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

This marks a significant moment as it is the first instance where two Black artists consecutively ruled the chart.

According to the American music data company, Chart Data, “Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ has risen to #1 on this week’s Hot Country Songs chart, displacing @Beyonce’s ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’.”

Shaboozey recently collaborated with Beyoncé on two tracks from her latest album, Cowboy Carter.
