Senator Natasha’s strong condemnation of the abduction of students from Confluence University


Expressing her dismay over the tragic incident at Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, located in Osara, Kogi Central senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, emphasized the complete unacceptability of the invasion.

According to reports, bandits launched an attack on the university on Thursday night, resulting in the abduction of numerous students who were preparing for the upcoming semester examinations.

In a statement released on Friday, Natasha decried the incident, calling for enhanced security measures throughout Kogi State. She described the assault as “unfortunate and unacceptable,” insisting that innocent students should never fall victim to such atrocious acts.

The senator underscored the importance of safeguarding educational institutions from such violence and urged law enforcement agencies to work towards securing the students’ safe return while holding the perpetrators accountable for their actions.

Natasha also pledged her unwavering support and assistance to facilitate the safe homecoming of the abducted students, emphasizing the vital need for preemptive measures to avert similar incidents in the future.

As per the university’s official statement, the attack took place at approximately 8:23 pm on Thursday, May 9th. Gunmen raided the campus situated in Adavi Local Government Area, Kogi State, and abducted an unspecified number of students who were gearing up for their first-semester exams.
