Saudi Arabia Declares Eid-El-Fitr for Wednesday; Fasting to Continue

On Monday, Saudi Arabia revealed that fasting would persist on Tuesday, as the crescent of Shawwal had not been spotted.

The country also confirmed that Eid-El-Fitr would be observed on Wednesday, April 10, marking the onset of the new Islamic month.

This update was shared on Haramin’s official Facebook page, a recognized platform for the global Muslim community.

“The crescent moon was not sighted in Saudi Arabia. Hence, Eid Al Fitr is set to be celebrated on Wednesday, 10th April 2024,” the message conveyed.

“May Allāh grant us the opportunity to make the most of the remaining days of this sacred month by engaging in activities that please Him. May He accept our fasting, prayers, and deeds, and enable us to witness many more blessed Ramadans in good health. Āmīn,” it further stated.

Meanwhile, Nigerian Muslims are advised to await the announcement from the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sa’ad Abubakar, which is anticipated later today.
