Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to President Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on New Media, has dismissed the rumors about his intention to contest in the 2027 governorship election in Abia or Anambra States.
Online circulation of a 2027 governorship campaign poster featuring Gawat surfaced, indicating his candidacy for the 2027 Abia State governorship under the Labour Party, LP.
Gawat refuted these claims, affirming that he has no plans to run for the governorship position in any state.
In a post on X, he reiterated his dedication to the advancement of Lagos State.
He expressed, “Good evening everyone, Thanks for sharing my impromptu photo that was released earlier today, I appreciate it. I also want to clarify that I am NOT contesting for any position in Abia or Anambra State or anywhere, whether by residency or indigeneship. The progress of every state matters to me, particularly Lagos State.
“I understand it was just for fun, but it is crucial to dispel any false information. IGBEGA ILU EKO… AJUMOSE NI, ITESIWAJU ILU ABIA LO JE WA LOGUN. Nigeria o ni baje o.”
