Sad news as former EKSU Deputy VC, who was kidnapped, is found deceased

The Ekiti State Police Command has sadly confirmed that Professor Femi Olaofe, a former Deputy Vice Chancellor at Ekiti State University, was found dead in the hands of his abductors.

Confirming this tragic incident on Wednesday, the State Commissioner of Police, Adeniran Akinwale, revealed to journalists that the professor’s body was discovered in a shallow grave.

The news of Professor Olaofe’s passing, who was kidnapped approximately three weeks ago from his residence in Ado-Ekiti, surfaced early Wednesday morning.

Providing further details, the police commissioner stated, “Yes, the professor’s body has been located, and we are making efforts to retrieve it for proper burial.

“There have been several arrests made in connection to this case. The circumstances suggest possible involvement of someone on the inside, particularly the security guard employed by the professor who may have orchestrated the abduction.

“The abductors took the security guard along with the professor to avoid arousing suspicions. We have taken individuals into custody during the rescue operation. While I cannot divulge much about the security guard now, we will share more details with the public in due time,” added the police commissioner.
