Ruling by Court Results in Removal of Oyo Traditional Leader

Following a ruling by the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, the selection and appointment of Oba Sakirudeen Oyeleye as the Onifiditi of Fiditi has been invalidated.

Fiditi, located in Afijio Local Government Area, was the town affected by this decision.

Presided over by Justice K.B. Olawoyin, the court issued a mandatory injunction to revoke the presentation of the Staff of Office to Oba Sakirudeen.

Oba Sakirudeen received the staff of office on October 18, 2021, from Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde alongside other officials.

Furthermore, the court prohibited all defendants from progressing with actions to fill the vacant Onifiditi of Fiditi position until the lawsuit is resolved.

The individuals who filed the case are Samuel Ogunkunle and Bayo Oyewale, represented by R. A. Olawuwo and B.M. Olimene.

As a result of the ruling, the plaintiffs were granted a cost of N200,000 in their favor, and the suit was adjourned until May 22.
