Emeka Amadi, the clerk of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has officially distanced himself from the faction supporting Governor Sim Fubara.
Amadi reiterated that Martin Amaewhule remains the legitimate Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The clerk emphasized that three assembly members loyal to Fubara—Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo, Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari, and Hon. Adolphus Orubimie Timothy—were suspended on October 30, 2023, and are not recognized as officers of the House.
In a recent development, some lawmakers appointed Jumbo as the new Speaker of the Assembly.
