Retirement Announcement by Former Super Eagles Winger

NewsNow reports that Sone Aluko, the former Super Eagles winger, has officially announced his retirement from football.

During Ipswich Town’s end-of-season dinner, the 35-year-old Aluko declared that he is stepping away from the game.

Aluko expressed his sentiments, stating, “I consider this Club the perfect place to conclude my career. The overall environment at Ipswich Town is exceptional, and it has been an honor to be a part of it. Despite not having as much playing time as I desired, this year has been the most fulfilling in my career.”

He continued, “I hold deep affection for all my teammates, including Harry Clarke, the Ipswich manager, even though he limited my game opportunities.”

Aluko had a diverse career, featuring stints at clubs such as Rangers, Aberdeen, Hull City, Fulham, and Reading. He also had a brief loan spell in China with Beijing Renhe.

Initially representing England at the youth level, the talented winger later switched his international allegiance to Nigeria. He made seven appearances for the Super Eagles, scoring two goals.
