Real Madrid considering adding former Man Utd star to Ancelotti’s squad

There is speculation that Real Madrid may be looking into the possibility of recruiting ex-Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea for the upcoming 2024-25 season to strengthen manager Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

De Gea, who left Old Trafford last summer, has been without a club but has not retired, signaling his intention to continue playing professionally.

The Spanish goalkeeper, known for his impressive time at Manchester United where he made 545 appearances, is highly regarded by the Red Devils fans.

However, following a change in the goalkeeping department at the club, De Gea departed, and Andre Onana was brought in to replace him.

Reports from Relevo (via Tribal Football) suggest that De Gea has expressed interest in reuniting with his former club, Real Madrid, especially after Thibaut Courtois suffered an injury at the beginning of the season.

Real Madrid decided to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea instead of pursuing De Gea at that time.

With Kepa set to return to Chelsea and Andriy Lunin looking for more playing time, Real Madrid is now reconsidering the possibility of bringing in De Gea.

Lunin’s potential departure, coupled with interest from various European clubs, might lead Real Madrid to explore other goalkeeper options, with De Gea being a strong contender due to his experience and current availability.
