Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Make the Decision to Step Back from Senior Royal Family Roles

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have declared their intention to relinquish their positions as senior members of the Royal Family.

After several months of careful consideration and internal discussions, the royal couple has made this decision, which will pave the way for them to achieve financial independence.

They have also revealed their plan to divide their time between Britain and Canada, with the latter set to become their second home.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement outlining their decision, stating:

“After thoughtful deliberation and internal discussions, we have opted to embark on a new path within this establishment.

“We aim to step back from our roles as senior members of the Royal Family and work towards financial autonomy, while upholding our unwavering support for Her Majesty The Queen.

“It is the support we have received, particularly in recent years, that has emboldened us to make this change.

“We intend to maintain a presence in both the United Kingdom and North America, fulfilling our obligations to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.

“This geographical balance will allow us to raise our son with an understanding of the royal traditions he was born into, while also granting our family the space to focus on the next chapter, including the establishment of our new charitable organization.

“We eagerly anticipate sharing further details about this next phase as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge, and all relevant parties. Until then, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing support.”
