Primeboy files petition against Mohbad’s widow for false accusations

Childhood friend of the late singer Mohbad, Owodunni Ibrahim popularly known as Primeboy, has lodged a petition with the police against the widow of the deceased, Wunmi. He accuses her of making false accusations and threats to his life.

Concerns have been raised publicly regarding the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam, and the events surrounding the 27-year-old singer’s death.

Mohbad was signed under Marlian Records, owned by Afeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley.

Following Mohbad’s death, Marley and a prominent Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu alias Sam Larry, were detained and questioned by the Lagos State Police Command to provide information on the circumstances of Mohbad’s passing.

Primeboy was considered a fugitive by the State Police Command on October 4, 2023, but surrendered himself two days later.

On March 12, Primeboy, accompanied by Ayobami Fisayo aka Spending, visited the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti.

As part of his bail conditions in Mohbad’s case, he was required to sign in at the State CID every Tuesday to ensure his presence, according to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.

Hundeyin disclosed that the singer was summoned for questioning regarding alleged defamation of character as stated in a previous petition submitted by Wunmi.

However, Mohbad’s family criticized the petition.

In a statement shared on his Instagram account, Primeboy challenged Wunmi to disclose the truth about her late husband’s demise.

He posted the petition on his Instagram, stating, “I warned you to cease mentioning my name… You persisted… Now is the time to unveil to the world the truth you claim to know about what caused your boyfriend (Mohbad)’s death… Or face the consequences!”

The petition, submitted by Alexime Law Associates on behalf of the singer, was directed to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos.

Primeboy also accused Wunmi in the petition of using SCID operatives to coerce and intimidate him into falsely confessing to causing harm to the deceased Mohbad.

The petition stated, “Petition against Omowunmii Adebanji (Aloba) for threat to life, false accusation, and manipulation of SCID personnel to coerce Mr. Owodunsi Ibrahim (our client) into making a false confession of causing bodily harm to Ilerioluwa Aloba (deceased) alias Mohbad.”

“Petition against Inspector Muhammed of State CID Panti for official misconduct, abuse of police authority, and an attempt to obstruct justice as per Section 92 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
