Policeman allegedly rapes woman summoned to police station for an investigation

The Kenyan Police Service Number 226193 Constable Nestus Mwambai is being accused of raping a 45-year-old woman who was summoned to Kikesa Patrol Base in Matuu to record a statement regarding her alleged involvement in a neighbor’s goat theft. The incident occurred on Thursday, April 2. After appearing at the reports desk, the police officer took the victim to his house and raped her. Constable Daniel Kihara with Police Service Number 236990 discovered the woman crying at Mwambai’s house and upon inquiry, she revealed that Mwambai had raped her and threatened to kill her if she screamed. Machakos County Police Commander Karanja Muiruri confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect will be arraigned in court on Monday, April 6. He assured that the police will not allow Mwambai to tarnish the reputation of the National Police Service and informed that the court operations have been scaled down due to the coronavirus outbreak but the suspect will be arraigned as directed by the magistrate of Kithimani Court.
